I am looking to upgrade from the 6750 on Verizon. Now that some of you have had the benefit of test driving the 7250, is there any reason to wait for Verizon to release a 7100 type device? I won't change carriers, but I'm not in any great rush to change over if there is some compelling reason to wait. I do not have BES available, if that makes any difference to the decision. Thanks much for the advice.

I heard from a rep that July if ever on the 7100. But I also informed my rep of the 7250 before he knew. The 7250 rocks BTW.

You could be waiting for the CDMA version of the BB 7100-series for months or next year.

Verizon is notoriously slow releasing new phones/PDAs on their network. I've been waiting 8 months for Verizon to release the treo 650. I finally give up and got a AT&T WS BB 7290, then returned that when Verizon came out with the 7250.

I like Verizon wireless's coverage but not their slow phone releases or high prices.

I really do like the blackberrys, but the 7290 from AT&T WS (Cingular) and the 7250. The push email service is much better than the pull service on the treos.

I just wish the PDAs features were better on the Blackberrys. Then I could deep six my Tungsten E.

We have over 100 7750's. Our Verizon rep has told us not to expect a "7100-like" unit for the rest of the year. We have a 7250, it is faster and has bluetooth and 4.0 code, but it's not a huge improvement.

We're trying T-Mobile 7100's, which have some drawbacks (domestic coverage, keyboard), and some advantages (size, weight, screen, speakerphone, bluetooth, instant messaging) but allows our global travellers not to have to switch to a GPRS device to go overseas.

I'd go with the 7250 now. I used a 7100 for a couple months but switched to a 7290. the keyboard got to be too much of a pain in the ass.

I was okay on the 7100 using "multitap" instead of the frustrating SureType. What I couldn't get over was T-Mobile's coverage dropping everywhere.

I'm back on my Verizon 7250 for now, but I miss the instant messaging.

Not OT the thread too much regarding coverage, but I'm pretty amazed at how small Verizon's data network actually is. There's no denying that it works well where it's at, but wow, we're getting calls all the time from our field people asking what "Data Connection Refused" means. :(

Yeah same here...I can always tell who didn't read my manual and its clear discussion of "1X coverage"...complete with a map.

I would get the 7250 if you want to stick with Verizon. I do not think a 7100 form factor is coming quickly.

An advantage of the 7250 is that it is relatively future-proof at the moment, with the inclusion of an EV-DO chip (not currently enabled).
