I'm thinking of getting a pair of
Bluetrek bluetooth stereo headphones to use with my Curve, but I would like to make sure they are compatible with it before I shell out the cash.

Has anyone had any success pairing these headphones with their Blackberry?

I contacted Bluetrek support earlier today but I haven't received a response yet. I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone could help.

Well I just emailed the company requesting that they test their headset on the Blackberry Curve since it's finally stereo bluetooth-capable and a lot of people would be interested if it worked. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Too late for me, I just got a Motorola S9 Headset a few days ago.

I actually have tried the S9 and the bluetrek. They are both similar when it comes to design and features. The S9 is more comfortable than the bluetrek, specially the back part of the headset. The S9 contours to the back of the neck while the charging socket in the bluetreck is a little bit annoying on the neck.

Also, while using the S9 during my morning workout, I noticed after few weeks, the controls were not working properly. The S9 is not sweat resistant as Motorola claims.

Price wise, the S9 is $30 more than the bluetrek. I liked them both however, if you are planning to drive and use any of the headsets, it will take time to get used to having it around your neck while you drive.

Right now, I'm using a Sony DR-BT10CX. The headset is small and it works great. Call quality is better than the Motorola and the Bluetrek. Pairing the headset to my curve was extremely easy and the music sounds great. Easy to use and carry.

I hope this helped decide what bluetooth to use.

Do you really consider the Sony DR-BT10CX a "headset"? Isn't it more just some earbuds and a mic on the necklace?

And how good is the Motorola S9 with calls? I can't seem to figure out where the microphone is located and how it could possibly pick up a decent sound from your mouth without also picking up all the ambient sounds around you.

You could consider the sony a headset even though it does not wrap around your neck oo anything like that. Call quality is great and with the A2DP profile, the music sounds clear.

I've had no complaints when using the S9 to during calls. I tested it with the Mrs. The day I got it and she said she could hear me just fine.

i use the eytmotic ER-4's (wired) but they recently came out with the eyt8's (bluetooth). sound quality second to none, but i don't like how you need to hold the source on the right side of your body because the receiver is on the right earphone and bluetooth signal has trouble going thru living tissue.

anyone know if the stereo bluetooth profile is supported by the bluetooth radio on blackberrys ? i'm trying to see if an updated OS might include the profile or if it has to do with hardware, in which case my phone won't do stereo bluetooth.

so for those that do have bt headsets and headphones, it would be cool to see if you can do a little experiment while in-use. move your phone from one side of the body to the other, just to see if sound quality is affected.

i don't have stereo bt headphones, but i use a bt headset. often enough the signal is slightly interrupted, probably because i use the headset on my left ear and the phone usually sits in the cup holder to the right of me.

The microphone is in the right ear piece. It probably works like the jawbone headsets (minus the sophisticated noise canceling technology in the jawbone), not like the microphone on a standard headset that you would speak into.

I recently bought an S9 headset but cannot speak to the headset call quality, only the comfort (it could be better but it is acceptable) and the stereo bluetooth quality (this also could be better). The high end is lacking a little but the response of the mids and the bass is very good for a bluetooth headset. I also like the design of the ear pieces. They are designed like an in the ear headset but they do not fit into the ear like the ear buds, they sit "on" the ears and the tension from the headset keeps them in place.

i didnt think that the CURVE even played back through stereo bluetooth?? so are you guys saying it does work with the stereo bluetooth? i was under the impression it had to be wired headset only.

I'm using a Motorola HT820 and it does not work with video playback. It works great with music and calls and even streaming movies and music directly from my pc.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I have the Motorola S9 and they DO NOT work with video, but evrything else is grat with them, volume adjust, track skip or repeat, play/mute, voice dialing.
Is it the headsets or the curve that can't do video?
