Default transfer stuff without taking the memory card out

Please Login to Remove!

I usually take out the microsb chip out then to the adapter to transfer stuff onto the card, but I hate having to open my phone everytime. Is it possible that I can transfer stuff directly to my phone using the USB cord? If so, do I need to use the CD to install something? And if that's yes, is the program or whatever avaliable online for download? I somehow messed up the CD D: so it's not working anymore.

Yes, you can install the desktop software and allow two way transfer from your PC to the device and vice versa.

If you have damaged your original CD then contact your mobile carrier and they should be able to replace.

This thread is a bit off.

Desktop Manager is available for download from the RIM web site - download v4.2 SP1.

You can transfer media between the microSD card the the PC without DM. On the BB, set the microSD to "Mass Store Mode Support" to On (go into Options / Advanced / Media card).

When you connect the BB you will be prompted to enable Mas Storage Mode - if you reply yes, then the card (BB) will appear as a hard drive on the PC and you can transfer files directly. Not via DM - that is for transferring files to the BB itself (internal memory)...

DM is alot slower than the mass storage mode way. I usually use the mass storage way to add movies and music to my Pearl. It is usually 2x faster.
