Default Strange Wi-Fi Problem - BB 9000

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have done my best to go through as many threads as possible but have not yet found the solution to my problem so thought I'd try starting a new thread. (Note this is the first time I have posted -ever - so if I do something wrong - sorry!).

I have a BB 9000 and am trying to get it to work on my wireless network. It connects to the network, I can ping the BB from my laptop, the BB can ping google correctly. However, when I load a browser and try to go to a web site I get the following error message "Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider".

I have tried to set the "Browser" from "Internet browser" to "Hotspot Browser" as I read this on another post. However even after selecting "save options" it reverts back to "internet browser".

Some other random information:

- Router: Billion 7404
- Security: WEP
- I have connected the following devices successfully to my wifi network: several laptops, media centre PC, iPod touch, mate's iPhone
- All I can see in the router logs is that the device has connected (the MAC address is listed and it says "associated")
- I have noticed that sometimes the little green tick next to the "Wi-Fi <network name>" goes away and then comes back. The network is still up at this time as I can connect via laptop etc.

I have spent hours trying to get this to work as I want to get my gmail working on my phone via my Wi-Fi connection.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

emma

you need to change it to hotspot in:
options - advanced - browser.
change the first option to hotspot.
save.

then try.
