I hope somebody of influence from RIM reads these threads as what I have to say re service and support in RSA is one of my pet hates. It is just sucks. Non competant locals who dont know their ass from an OS. I cannot understand that RIM has a "Storm" exclusive with Vodacom yet the phone sophistication is beyond their capability. I have resorted to help from various forums like this site and I`m glad I have,as most of my queries have been sorted. Is RIM aware of what goes on. Motorola for all intents and purposes dissappeared from RSA for the very reasons mentioned. Good marketing followed by poor, non existant support.
I have an expensive Moto Z8 paperweight to attest to this.

Unfortunately, this forum is not owned or affiliated in any way, shape or form with RIM, and as such, there are no persons of influence within RIM reading this forum that we know of.

Also, I am curious as to your real complaint. You mention wanting RIM to read it, but you are complaining about Vodacom, not RIM. RIM and other device manufacturers have little to no influence on the carriers (such as Vodacom) that sell their devices and the support that those carriers provide to your customers.

Have you tried MTN, they're a bit better but it depends on the problems you're having.

I have a fair amount of experience with SA, and the Voda group, and trust me this is just par for the course with Vodaxxx and nothing to do with RIM as dc/dc says.

You are quite right about them not being ready for the Storm but the same was true of Vodafone in the UK, marketing ran off before Tech were ready as is usually the case. But I know what you mean about the local support but to be fair that's a problem in a lot of SA business. Vodafone UK having well customer-service-trained reps saves them a lot when they have no tech knowledge.

I know you might want RIM to realise how crap Vodacom are but they base their relationship on global sales and it's probably better to make Vodacom big cheeses or Vodafone guys aware of the issue, not RIM.
