What does the error say exactly? Does it say the Homescreen Mask file is too large or that the Homescreen Image File is too large? I would be willing to bet that it's the homescreen image because the PTB converts Jpeg to png and when it does, the file size increases. Use Photoshop to convert it to PNG before putting it into the PTB, that way You can control the size.
Hope this helps.

That is what i did. Trying the new theme on my device....One thing though, every time I insert a theme, my IM goes and have to reinstall it. Does anybody know why?

It worked!!!!
Conclusion, both files, the home screen background and mask have to be png (240x160)!!! Now, my 7290 does not have a banner...just like the 8700!!! The background takes the whole screen

I've had a look at a number of themes for the 7290 and really like the icon set provided in the Hiway and Bliss packages from rogersmj.com. However, my 7290 doesn't handle the backgrounds all that well and I would like to change the default display font (not the mail reading font which I have already changed).
The worst part is that my lowly 1ghz laptop is slow enough now that I doubt I could install all the rewuired components for making theme changes without killing it entirely.
The folks at rogersmj.com have made the theme available for people to adjust if they want to (I have downloaded a copy) so I was wondering if some kind sole would be able to remove the main screen background and change the default display font to BBMillibank Tall?
With the background removed, a simple light grey or the (default) white would probably work great.
Any kind soles out there willing to lend a helping hand? I tried to upload the theme .zip file but was not able to do so (exceeded size limit).

Hi there:
If you are still offering to do themes for a 7290, I would LOVE a Hello Kitty theme--done in shades of pink, if possible.
Thank you!

when i made the default 8700 theme for my 7100 it took me forever to get some of the background images down to size. I usually did "save to web" and then played with the number of colors, dither, etc.
Here's a question though - for all of the themes I have tried to create for 7290s, when I actually install the theme and activate it, I get a two-line display of icons instead of three lines of icons. Any idea why?

If you download the theme builder, there are several files (documentation) that will explain how to do things.

Try this link. I had to fill out a small form to get to this page but it looks semi static so it may work for a direct download.
Edit: Nevermind, there is no direct download link. You have to fill out the form. Here's the link to the page:
https://www.plazmic.com/PlazmicDownl...onForm.do?id=1
You'll also need the latest blackberry java development environment which you can get from www.blackberry.com/developers
And... youll also need the latest Java runtime environment from http://java.sun.com Good luck!!

Hi, I have a few questions I hope some may be able to answer. Do you need 4.1 to download these themes? Can they be dl over the air? And where can I see these themes? Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, one more thing. Do you need a pc in this process? Thanks again.

I was also wondering if you would need v4.1 for these themes and if you would need plazmic theme reader.

The themes should install on 4.0 but why not upgrade to your carriers latest software if its available? Also, you don't need Plasmic theme reader. I'm pretty sure they cannot be downloaded OTA but I haven't tried. If you have access to a pc I would use the desktop manager software.

Make smaller sized icons.
