Talking Homemade Themes on 8700

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, For all you proud new 8700c owners, how many of you have played with the new theme generator, and installed your artwork on you 8700c? I know it must have been hard to avoid playing with your new tool/toy, but . . .

If you have created and installed a new theme, were there any problems installing, using, etc? I am curious, as I spent most of the day creating one for mine, Really needed something to make the wait tolerable, since Fedex doesn’t deliver on holidays. I had to do something. Please let me know any problems I might encounter when I install mine. Check out my work in progress.

Thanks for the responses.

I messed with it too, only thing I HATE is that the theme template that is given is the "rogers" theme, (it isnt but lets call it that) I wish you could modify the Cingular theme...so sad. Very creative theme you did by the way

Red face Oops

I should have checked, I didn't realize that was a Rogers case. I wasn't paying attention to anything but the screen. I went back and changed it for my avitar, but won't waste bandwith changing the others.

Again

BoyGenious, I understand what you said, it's just that made me aware that my case on the pictures was the Rogers case not the Cingular one. I to wish that you could also customize the Cingular theme although, I haven't had a chance yet to see what it really is. Later today

Thanks again.

You need to actually download Java before you install the Blackberry JDE. First install Java (JDK 5.0 Update 5), then the Blackberry JDE, then Plasmic.

Well. I guess I have problem with the theme builder. If I make any changes, I can't export the theme. It appears to work, but no files are created. Woks fine with unchanged theme. Oh well, guess I'll keep working on it.

Thanks, BTW, just getting my new 8700 reloaded from backup. I love it, but it is going to take some getting use to the new keyboard.

Just try creating a new folder, first saving the theme file in that folder, and then exporting to that new folder, should work. I had the same problem...

Default Where can I get the Homemade Themes...

Is there a place that I can go to download all of the themes that people have made?

I noticed through a Google search that I could findthe NHL and the South Park theme... but neither do anything for me. I'm sure that there are tons of other themese out there that people have made.

If there isn't a place to download these and you've created them, let me know by PM and perhaps I can upload them to my site for everyone to download.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm a little propritary about my first Theme, even though the artwork isn't the best. Maybe I just want a totally unique theme. Heck, on my old Nokias, I even had a ringtone I composed myself.

When I get more themes built I'll let you post them.

Sorry,

Download the software and create your own, the whole idea of making these is for individuality, why would I want to share my creation with anyone, the second I do it wont be unique. It sure is easy enough to do.

BG, I could be misunderstanding you so forgive me if I am, but the Cingular version has the same clouds and paved road theme as the Rogers, along with others.
