The 523 was a bit of a scare, and solving it was a bit of a nuisance...but looking on the positive side, I finally downloaded JL_Cmder and learned how to use it, and yet one more "black box" is illuminated, and I have one more tool to use should a Blackberry give me issues. Was easy enough to fix with javaloader, and that's one less mystery for me.

Now I'm just left with the disappointment of not being able to play with the new theme, since I like 4.5.0.42 enough to keep it loaded until the next release comes out.

If you get a 523 Error when loading this theme (becasue you are using OS 4.5)...do not wipe your Berry. You do not need to use JL Cmdr.

I found that loading the APP LOADER, then UNCHECKING the Surreal theme, and letting desktop manager erase it from your device and reboot..it works! I did it..and it worked perfectly. I did not lose any data at all.

Verizon 8330 users, beware . . .
UPDATE: this issue was apparently NOT caused by the installation of this theme on my VZw Curve.. It was related to my GPS experimentation over the weekend.

Bummer. I'm running 4.5 and was so close to installing it. Thanks for this thread!

Sorry to all those who installed and got 523 errors though...

Nice find. Love the look. Testing it out now. I like having the six icons. Heck, I even like the included wallpaper. But, I will likely experiment with other wallpapers.

Love this Theme.... on my VZW 8330 though the icon view only shows 2 rows instead of the 3 rows it's supposed to show. Anyone have a fix for that? Otherwise I like this theme.

I'm using and loving this theme as well however, I did notice for those who disabled home screen dialing in favor of shortcuts, the "P" for phone does not work with this theme. Otherwise, very functional and looks great!

Come on, fixing the reset error was a piece of cake, all you had to do is connect your device to the computer, get to the cmd prompt where you have javaloader saved and type, javaloader -u erase -f net_rim_theme_surreal_320x240_b.cod
This will remove the theme and restart your device, no need to re-install os or erase the device.

I can write a little bat file to help if you are stuck.

Like the look, but Surreal and Stargazer caused my poor 8800 to crash even more than usual. Just deleted both.

+1

So who do we need to visit with to push for the 4.5 support?

I love the theme on my Sprint 8330 too. It shows 2 rows instead of 3 in the app screen but that's fine.
It is weird that the botification icons are weird. V is messages and I think ? is sms. I never get the envelope that I see in the pics posted up here before. I don't mind.... Looks killer.

Same here. It's not terrible, but it would be nice to have one more line of icons. Is this because we're running 4.3?
