Default Cannot delete user

Please Login to Remove!

Using Groupwise 7 and BES 4.0.6.4 (I know - not the latest version). We're getting an error message when attempting to delete a user that has returned their BlackBerry.

The message within BlackBerry Manager is (after a considerable wait)

Failed to remove user "" from the BlackBerry Server

My understanding is that this is a problem with the SQL database behind BES? Which is backed up by the entry that then appears in the log, which is:

[10000] (05/09 11:58:29):{0x1748} [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired[SqlState HYT00][ODBCRecord::DeleteRecord]Error executing SQL statement "DELETE FROM UserConfig WHERE Id = ?" DATA: Id[115].

I really need to delete the user as I (a) need to reallocate the BlackBerry that he had and (b) don't have any more licences on the server!

Can anyone advice - I've never seen this before in two years running two different BES systems.

Thanks,

Janet

I'm on Exchange but had a similar issue and had to get a SQL Script from T-Support to dump the user. If you want it let me know.

Contact RIM for the SQL script to manually remove the user. I had similar issue before when my BESes are still on 4.0.x. Not such issue with 4.1.x now

well, you could try to manually delete the user from the DB.

open command promt:

osql -S [servernaam] -E

1>Use BESMgmt

2>Select DisplayName, ID from dbo.UserConfig

3>find the Displayname and ID

4>Delete from UserConfig where ID=' '

5>go

1>Delete from SyncDeviceMgmt where UserConfigID=' '

2>go

Close the command prompt.
