Exclamation Help!!!!

Please Login to Remove!

BLARGh.... new to the Blackberry, just got it a week ago.

When I add music to my MicroSD card it creates these "phantom" duplicate files that I can't delete. But when I take the card out of the phone and just hook it up to the computer they aren't there.

the files look like this in the media player

._03 Fighter 0:00

When you explore the card it says they are 1KB

Someone please help... it's really annoying to have to scroll through all of those in my media player to get to the actual music!

Thanks. Any other ideas? I've tried everything it seems like (formatting, soft and hard reset, adding the files via Mass Storage mode and adding the files via the computer.) I can't figure it out!

I think I may have figured out my problem with the "phantom" files in my music player. It seems to be that the only mp3s that are doing this are the ones that are encoded by iTunes. Is there any way to make sure they aren't encoded by iTunes so I don't have this problem when I play them on my Pearl?

I am using a PowerBook with OSX.3.9

TehPatty-- are you using a Mac to access your media card, or put the files there?

Yes I am. But like I said, only certain files are doing this. I'm getting so frustrated cause I'm usually a wiz with this kind of stuff!

i just know that in my office i have a mixture of Macs and PCs. When the Macs access our PCs, or put a file on the PCs, they also leave a smaller, identically named file on the PC as the true file, except it begins with a "_", and is routinely 82 bytes in size.

I say you might just have to ignore them, as annoying as it is. Or delete them from the media card with the BB.

Yeah... I might just have to ignore them. *sigh* I tried deleting them from the media card with the BB but they won't delete. And of course when I take it out of the BB and hook the card up to the Mac they won't delete. Oh well, my OCDness will just have to deal I guess, LOL!
