Ill take the back seat on this...if RIM goes with the flo...their future devices will have multi-touch technology and a full compliment of features to take advantage of evolving mobile technologies like AJAX and all that other good stuff.
AJAX is a revolutionary Web 2.0 technology, but it's hardly what you'd call a 'mobile' technology. If anything, it's anti-mobile.

Well, I believe Sprint still has an exclusive on the Treo 755p and HTC Mogul. And has had exclusives on other Treos over VZW. And I really wish Sprint would get an exclusive release with the 8130; I don't think I will hold my breath on that one..... ;)

But when will they release a new Blackberry for Nextel...or even a Sprint Hybrid phone so I can still have my PPT? I am still stuck with the 7100i and am watching all the other companies from miles behind...

Sprint does not have an exclusive on these devices; they just released them first, which give the impression that they have an exclusive on them. VZW was supposed to release the HTC 6800 and the 755p a while ago, but they keep pushing them back (for whatever reason).

Sorry mate, your carrier is probably the last company finally gets any updated BlackBerry. It goes to Verizon and Sprint too.

T-Mobile and AT & T (formerly Cingular) usually first receive any latest BlackBerry since they have a large number of BlackBerry customer.

You're holding out on a dying dream. iDEN + BB is over unless some other vendors besides Nextel put some serious pressure on RIM to develop another device.

Pay attention to the QChat service because that is the supposed PTT replacement for Sprint on EVDO Rev. A.

Well, if VZW does offer WiFi, you're likely to have to pay to unlock it. Isn't that how the GPS is?

The rumors for new Blackberries for Verizon is very interesting..makes me debate whether I should upgrade to the 8830 or see what comes down the pipeline.

The next round is not rumored to be bound for VZW, but TMO.

That should be about it. If there's something else in the pipeline, then I have absolutely no clue about it. We should see all of these before the end of the year, although that's just my own opinion that should be taken with a grain of salt and a dash of sand.
I am currently shopping for a BB, and am with VZW, and am thinking of switching to AT&T 8800, anyways the Business sales person at VZW told me that the pearl is supposed to be end of summer, and that nothing else has been mentioned for BB's with VZW.

I really hope that this device comes with WiFi. It would be perfect.
I would agree with you , but than when you think its great they go and cripple the features in the device you've been drooling over.

Did anyone figure out how to uncripple the GPS in the 8830 yet?

Yeah, return the phone and buy the Sprint 8830. Its GPS works fine. Verizon is the problem, not the phone. I'm sorry, couldn't help it. Calling Verizon and complaining is about the only way to get GPS turned on. Verizon is famous for this kind of crap and the only way it will stop is if enough of its customers complain and even then its iffy.
