One Month Left
Please Login to Remove!
RIM promised BES features and an Android player this summer. We're now one month away from the end of summer (which is disappointing for a number of reasons). I haven't heard any news about release dates for the updated software. RIM is really starting to frustrate the people who keep sticking up for them.

Perhaps you could complain on a RIM website. We share your frustrations.

I think ipad sucks after using playbook, enjoy pressing that home button for anything you want to do ( is that really multi tasking? LOL). wifi only versiion ipad cant do bridge functions and access phone data plan either. good luck when you have no wifi near by, its just a brick unless there is an app for that

But on the other hand, there are iPads with 3G radios where you don't need Wifi. Also, if you have an iPhone 4 (which I would assume most do) they can use their iPhone as a wifi hotspot, if needed. most Android devices can do the same as well.

If he is happy with the iPad, then it is obviously the device for him and I wish him well with it.

Meh....it all boils down to buying what you like/need/want and not worrying too much about the other crap. Some people like just make it seem difficult.

I also NEVER use my PlayBook, so it's not like I am waiting for this.

I am content to wait. Still use my Playbook, but I suspectb because I can still use the Player. Hopefully they come out with their 'big' upgrade soon.

I *absolutely* will give the PB a second chance with the player. I just have limited expectations...

Re: One Month Left
It's my first foray into Android. Fun, some apps are really amazing. I would rather have a fully functioning Playbook though.

This whole waiting thing kind of reminds me when Apple was playing the same game with their Newton device years ago, it's safe to say the Playbook is going the way of the Newton.

Re: One Month Left
What? You mean RIM didn't deliver on something they promised on exactly on the date they promised? I'm shocked.
Shocked I tell you. Sold my Playbook.....

Rick: How can you close me up? On what grounds?
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.

Re: One Month Left
I'm still enjoying my PlayBook and using it every day. But since I got my new 9930 I'm not using it quite as much. I don't care that much about the Android Player, except Angry Birds would be nice. But I can play that on my iPod Touch 4 gen. I also use my PlayBook for work when I have a long wait for an appointment, which is often.

True. I still use it almost everyday, but since I have a 9900, I do not use it nearly as much as when I was rocking my 9780. All 6 Star Wars in Blu-ray look beautiful on the screen.
