Sorry to break it to you, but that OS won't work on your 9700. Try one of the others instead of waiting for an "official" from T-MO.

Sorry, but no-can-do. I've tried OS updates that were not released by T-Mobile exactly twice. In both cases I followed precisely the installation instructions posted on these forums. I installed the OS correctly as others had done. And whereas others had no problems, the non-T-Mobile OSes caused me to experience MAJOR glitches and both times, I had to roll back to the most recent OS provided by T-Mobile. I don't know why I have such bad luck, but the only OS versions that are stable for me are the ones provided by T-Mo. So they'd BETTER pull their head out of their arse on this one!

That's strange, since they come from RIM - oh well, good luck. I'd say drop T-MO, get ATT and a Torch!

Aw, HELL NO! You couldn't PAY me to go back to AT&T Wireless!

Besides, I'd have to give up my sweet Unlimited Loyalty plan with unlimited talk for only $50 a month and my grandfathered BlackBerry Data plan (only $20 a month!) I don't think so!

Cheers
I really hate the keyboard. The old Curve, which I used for 3 years had much better key definition. The 9700 keys are too flat and merged togther. Much more typing errors with this keyboard. Even worse on the slideout keyboard, as the keys are even flatter.

So why the more you pay for the blackberry the worse the keyboard??

The "small" memory causes me no problem but then I only have one third party app (Logmaid) and a stripped out os.
The keys are very much a problem. I have very small hands for a man of 37 (for a man of any age in fact!) and even I struggle with typing.
I'm trading my 9700 for a 9000.

I actually wish it as a little heavier (like the 9000) and better screen resolution. And touchscreen of course!

Buy a Torch or an iPHONE. The 97xx series was never designed as a touch screen. As far as making it heavier, get an Otterbox case...that will add the weight you're looking for.
