Oh boy, here we go again. Where is ArgonNJ? People forget that the same thing was predicted for Apple not so many years ago and look at them now.

Meh, I'll just go with the flow and see what happens. Either way I'll still be up to my eyeballs in mobile devices.

Dvorak stopped being relevant a long time ago. He's been predicting the end for Apple for 15 years now. How's that one working out for him?

Re: Here are doom and gloom predictions..
Too many folks confuse Wall Street's idea of a good investment with the idea of a healthy company that will survive for many years. Even if RIM is not growing like Apple or Google it can still survive and thrive. RIM is still selling scads of devices, and the smartphone market is huge enough to support multiple success stories.

The difference is, Apple had Steve Jobs, a business savvy CEO who saw the future and innovated. He made people want his product. He and he alone turned Apple into the powerhouse it is today. RIM, on the other hand, has 2 closed minded retards in charge who still think its 2005. They are the problem and as long as they remain at the helm, RIM will never turn it around like Apple did. Will RIM fold? Who knows, I do think that at the minimum that will be relegated to a small niche market that only a few will care about.

Obviously you don't follow Dvorak. His style is to stir the pot. I think he's spot on here. And if he wasn't relevant, I'm thinking you wouldn't be reading his columns, as most would drop him.

I haven't read that moron in a decade. He's the Howard Stern of tech writers, making wild and unsubstantiated claims to generate interest. In the end, he's boring and worthless.

rambo, I don't think there is any reason to insult Howard Stern like that.

I woudn't have read that article if it hadn't been posted here, and I bet Rambo wouldn't have either. Dvorak stirs the pot in ridiculous ways to generate page veiws which in turn generates more ad sales for the page. Quality has nothing to do with it, it's all about page views and advertising dollars. There is plenty of that crap journalism on the web. IMO it's the web equivalent of the tabloids in supermarkets.

Dvorak has been writing columns long before "page views" were even in existence. This is his style, I understand you don't like it because he is not saying what you want to hear. I'm sure if it had been a "RIM will triumph" piece, you would feel differently.

Actually, he's just plain wrong too often to be relevant. And as his record has caught up with him he's transitioned to the "shock jock" style of journalism to boost readership. It's so transparent. The man has zero credibility.

Wrong. I stopped reading Dvorak about 6-7 years ago because he starting writing crap articles. And you are wrong about page views. I was a blogger for a major tech site 6 years ago and was paid according to how many page views my blog received every month. Being paid by page views has been going on for a long time, before I starting blogging.

Re: Here are doom and gloom predictions..
now now, this wasnt meant to become a war, I was just mearly asking how you all feel. I couldnt agree more that we will all adapt and overcome anything that comes down. Mobile isnt going anywhere.
I too am tired of all the fan boi's in my group telling me how much RIM sucks. As far as the article goes, many bloggers are writing fantastic unicorn and rainbow stories to get their crap read. Unfortunately everyone has jumped on the RIM bashing band wagon.
At this point they are no better than reading STAR magazine or World News..

What I meant was Dvorak was writing columns before the internet. So there were no page views then.

As I said, if he had zero credibility, he wouldn't be published as much as he is.
