Default Video randomly stops recording

Please Login to Remove!

Hi y'all-

I got my Blackberry Curve a few days ago and most things have been great except for the video recorder. I'll give a short version and a longer one:

Short: When I leave the phone stationary to record a video, it simply stops recording at random times (roughly 5 minutes in, then 8 minutes in, then 5 again, etc.).

Long: I am trying to take a video of my daughter's monologue for a school play to send to the family. The entire thing is roughly 20-25 minutes (I KNOW!!). I don't want to hold the phone the entire time to take the video, plus that would lead to extremely poor quality and a shaky cut. I tried leaving it propped up on a chair while recording, but it just stops at random times without warning. The first time she did the whole thing all the way through and when we checked the phone to see the video, we noticed it had stopped recording 20 minutes earlier! At first I thought this was related to receiving texts or emails while recording, but now I'm not so sure because this happened a few times when I didn't receive any messages.

We're very frustrated and I'd really appreciate any help!!

Try a different microSD card.

Really? Why do you think that would change anything?

Do you know if the phone is prompting you to continue recording at these random increments and you're missing the prompt to continue recording?

I'd say because I had that problem and had to reformat my microSD card to get rid of it. Saying to get a new card right away was a mistake. Try reformatting it first and see if that clears the problem up. If that doesn't work, then you'd need a new card. The video camera freezing up is most likely a problem with the card.
