BB 9700 Screen protector?
Please Login to Remove!
I've discoverd that the screen on the 9700 has a beveled edge that inhibits most of the screen protectors I've ordered so far from fitting correctly.
Has anyone found one that fits correctly for the unique 9700 screen and is high quality with no bubbles and no need for frequent replacement?

I know these are expensive, but to be honest, once you get it on, i've replaced the phone before the protector.

I put a Best Skins Ever on my 9700 and it feel the screen perfectly. However I noticed that lower right corner came up ever so slightly on the beveled edge. I've used 3 or 4 of these on various devices and that's never happened before. Worried that it will either collect dust or peel back more. Ordered some more and plan on potentially re-applying.

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000 (AT&T))
The Seidio screen protector fits just inside the bevel on the left and right, so there is little chance of a corner lifting.

The Seidio ones are perfect. Also highly recommend their Snap case and Extended Battery for weekends of music and GPS. I have tried alot of these and Seidio really does make a top knotch one which is why I feature it at my tips site.

Looking for more reviews on the Seidio before I spend $20 shipped.
Thanks.

where i live, the local store didn't have any for blackberry... let alone the newer 9700. i found a gecko matte screen protector for the iphone, chopped it up using a guilitine and know a friend who's pro at applying with no air bubbles (i suck at it). don't even know it's there apart from the anitreflect feature.
we chopped it up so that it's on the inside of the beveled edge. at first i thought there might be an issue with it accidently coming up on the edges, but they stick so well and are so thin.
another side effect of using the iphone one is fingerprints... or lack of. since it's designed for a touch screen, it handles fingerprints rather well.

I've been using Martin Fields, almost indestructible even with stylus use on my older handhelds. Sized slightly smaller than the screen, so no issues with the bevel.

For Canadians that don't want to get raped with shipping. I bought this one from ebay: Clear Screen Cover Protector for Blackberry BOLD 9700 on eBay.ca (item 120510347043 end time 24-Jan-10 13:57:47 EST)
Its shipped from Toronto and I received it in less than 24 hrs. For $3 inc tax/shipping you can't go wrong. It fits perfectly and does the job...so far.
If it drops off in a few weeks I'll order the expensive ones but so far, so good.

I tried the Invisible Shield on my old Pearl, and although I loved it, it did yellow a lot and the corners came up. I got Best Skins Ever on my 9700 and the fit is incredible. Unfortunately, it fits so perfectly that it is very difficult to get the pieces on correctly. Almost every piece (and there are a lot) is collecting lint because one corner or another is sticking out a little bit. BSE also is not very smooth, which isn't an issue on most of the phone, but I do not like that on the screen. It's got an orange-peel look to it.

I'm using Invisible Shield on mine and it wraps around those edges without any problems at all. You just need to make sure that when installing -- that you keep pressing out all that liquid.

I personally just bought a generic screen protector off of eBay for $2.75 for 3, free shipping (comes from Hong Kong). It's cheap, and it gets the job done. At first I was disappointed too, because when they said SCREEN protector, they really did just mean the display screen, not including the beveled edges. I've gotten over that though.
I've read good things about Invisible Shield, but the thought of spraying my new BB with liquid for applying got me scared!

I have now done several of these (use Best Skins Ever which has a REALLY nice set for the 9700) and beginning to feel quite proficient at it. I never put liquid directly on the device, rather I take a bowl and fill it with water plus 2-3 drops of liquid dish soap. I then dip the pieces in the water, remove it from the backing, shake off as much liquid as possible and then apply it to the clean device. I also use a lint free cloth to absorb and water that gets squeezed out. The key is to first position it carefully an then make sure you let it dry a little so it stays in place then I slowly work the corners. The last two I did for my 9700 and iPod Touch came out really nice.

I used to use Invisible Shield for my electronic phones/items (PSP, GPS, Palm Treo, etc.) but for my Blackberry Bold 9700 (as well as my iPhone 3GS), I went with BestSkinsEver. Even with the 50% deal that Zagg sometimes gives for Invisible Shield, BestSkinsEver was lower in price.
Invisible Shield has a lifetime warranty but when you factor in the shipping cost to send your broken shield back to them and the shipping cost for them to send the replacement shield to you, buying another BestSkinsEver was cheaper (at least shipping with shipping to Canada).
