Default Camera on Tour

Please Login to Remove!

It seems that my pictures are very blurry on the Tour....If i am very close to an object, something small like a watch, it seems to be fine, but for taking an ordinary picture of a person or something else, it seems to be very blurry.....
I have cleaned off the lens and that doesn't help....any suggestions, anyone notice this?

Seems odd - I'm not having those issues. When you take a pic, are you waiting for the autofocus to 'catch' before moving the device?

What do you have the camera options set at? You could try setting Image Stabilization to 'On'.

I also have my Picture Quality set to 'Superfine'

The picture quality on my third Tour is not as good as my second. Then again, I am not sure of certain settings. Particularly with the lighting or when to use night etc.

I have IS to on
PQ is set to Superfine....

I'll have to try again.....still seems to not be focused very well unless i'm very close to the object....

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

I seem to do well if the lighting is good. Try an object 15 ft away in a closed, well-lit environment.

I've noticed you with OS 5.0.0.230, you can't take a picture while on a call. The call drops when you start up the camera app.

I just went outside to try again and it just seems that all pictures are VERY blurry unless it's a close-up. Not sure if it's worth complaining about, I guess all they could do is give me a new phone....

Like others have said, you have to wait for the autofocus. Just hold down the berry button until it snaps the picture and it should be pretty sharp.

I was getting blurry pix for a month, only to notice that I forgot to remove the tape

And also if your phone is in like an otter case or other such case that protects the lens, the lens cover could be dirty itself.

Good point. The camera itself has improved from the prior series. I am surprised the Tour 2 will still be the same camera

Default Camera 2/3 sharp, 1/3 not?

While I have had the Tour for a while now, I just started taking (and paying attention to) some pics and noticed that while the right 2/3 of each picture is actually quite sharp, the left third is slightly out of focus. I went back to some pictures I took when I first got the Tour and they all have the same exact issue. Hmmmm...I checked the lens and it is perfectly clear/clean with no scratches or blemishes. Any thoughts? I know I can take it back and get a refurb unit, but am hesitant to do so.

The thing we tend to forget is that this is a phone first and a camera second, it will never replace a DSLR and the quality of the images is never going to be superb, I am a photographer and I think that for what it is and for its intended use the Tour's camera is as good as you are going to get, the same applies to the movies you get with it.

The camera on this device is stellar for a mobile device. I have a Nikon D300 and a sweet 2.8 lens and don't expect to get pic quality like I do with my DSLR setup. I have 5.0.0.230 and the cam works great - even while on the phone.
