Default Re-boot issues on Rogers OS 5.0

Please Login to Remove!

I tried the 314 on my Rogers Bold and had re-booting issues so tried 348 and am continuing to experience re-booting issues. The only time that I have actually noticed it is when it was plugged into the wall to charge, mind you it might have been rebooting before that and I just didn't notice it. I was under the impression that this was not an issue with Rogers but I guess it is.

I have been doing reading on possible different fixes such as formatting the memory card and having the phone on 3g only. These fixes seem to be controversial though. I always have my phone set to 2g only.

Any advice?

As far as the card, remove it and see if that solves the rebooting problem. If it does, you've found your problem.

Also, what else have you done as far as installing aftermarket software, themes, and so forth?

I tend to doubt the OS angle (so long as it is an official release) and would look at other possibilities.

I have had the reboot issue with both the .314 and the .348 versions of the OS. What I have found out however is that my phone ONLY reboots when I'm in an area that does not have 3G. Once I hit the EDGE coverage areas, I start getting reboots, sporadic, but reboots nonetheless. Once I'm in the 3G coverage area, no problem with either versions of the OS.

How about that...Wow ... I was wrong to think that they would never let an OS out the door with that kind of a problem.

I did just notice a reboot when it wasn't plugged in so I guess it is actually occurring all the time. I have switched it to 3g only so will try that.

As for aftermarket themes, none. I have installed only a few applications from BB APP WORLD.

Aww the fun of beta software.
