Question NOAA or NWS Text Weather Alerts?

Please Login to Remove!

Does the National Weather Service or NOAA have any service where they can text or e-mail weather alerts for a specific area so that I do not have to constant check via my mobiles browser or by computer.

CWSFL.com | CW39 WSFL | South Florida's CW - Weather

One I use. I can change zip codes for alerts to areas when traveling. Set up types of alerts and time/date you wish.

And it is free. And no Spam...man

I've yet to see SPAM because of it and I'm using my att.blackberry.net address.

The best by far is StormNow.com - Weather information via email, fax, pager and PCS.

I've used them since 1998 when they started. Absolutely dependable, highly configurable and inexpensive. The $2/month flat rate email option is perfect. There's also a two week free trial.

Many amateur radio operators, civil defense, homeland security, and city/county emergency coordinators use this service.

I live in a tornado/severe thunderstorm/hurricane prone area and would not be without this service

And NEVER any spam!!!

I have used them for a couple of years and can vouch for them. Reliable and no spam. They also have amber alerts and homeland security.

I also use them and get no spam. Only get alerts when things happen.

Try this service at FirstAlertSystemText.com. In addition to providing functionality to schools to be able to alert students and parents at no charge, the service includes weather alerts issued by NOAA to the area you subscribe to. There is a 99 cent monthly charge to your cell bill but this seems very reasonable compared with all the other services that are available.
