Love the app. I'm a scientist and have been using it lots since i got hold of it. One thing. Would it be possible to enlarge the font of the countdown to as big as the blackberry can take on the screen without having to scroll to see settings. Hope this makes sense.

New version 0.5.2 uploaded, with just a couple of usability fixes. Maximum time entry is enforced, especially in the secondary alert fields. Hopefully this will help clear up any remaining confusion on what values are allowed.

Thanks, glad you can use it! I'm batting around the idea of incorporating a "Maximize" option, which would probably do what you want. The next couple of 0.5.x releases are just going to be bug fixes to resolve any outstanding issues. If no new bugs are discovered (by me or anyone else) in the next week or so, I will try to release a new version which would probably include the "Maximize" feature and maybe one or two other ideas which augment the timer functionality but don't add too much complexity.

Love the new version. The "elapsed" display option that can be changed on the fly is very cool. And the new mosquito tone is a big improvement.
From an interface perspective, it's kind of peculiar that choosing mosquito without choosing tone does nothing. Not a problem, just peculiar.
Thanks for continuing to improve this app! It's part of my life now; I time my coffee with it every morning. (I'm sure that others have more sophisticated uses.)

I second the idea of maximizing the size of the numbers on the display. I am a teacher and I would like to be able to glance at it on the podium. Thanks!

Errr.. I just realized the catch with wanting a larger display... you would have to leave the backlight on to take advantage of this. Battery drain.

So - i guess I would recommend making the numbers a little bigger so they really stand out but I don't see the point in filling the screen.

My 2 cents.

It sounds like you are expecting the "Mosquito" checkbox to enable/disable the sound. The "Mosquito" checkbox is really just a toggle switch for the tune which will play. If it's unchecked, the original "Encounters" tune will play; if it's checked, the new "Mosquito" tune will play. Whichever tune is selected, it will only play if you have the "Tone" checkbox enabled. The "Tone" checkbox is the toggle for sound.

Anyway, glad you like the app. BTW, I use it for timing my boiled eggs, which isn't too far off from coffee, so you're not alone!

I'm still trying to decide the best way to implement a "maximize" or "zoom" feature and I'm trying out a few ideas. So far, I'm not all that impressed with anything I've tried.

It's been almost 2 weeks since the last release and it doesn't appear that there are any outstanding bugs, so I'll try to make up my mind on the "zoom" as soon as I can and hopefully have a new release in the next couple of days.

I just uploaded version 0.6, which adds the requested "zoom" feature with a handy "z" shortcut key and 4 zoom levels.

Try to refresh your BB browser. Scroll up, so that you're off the "Download" button, click the trackwheel and select "Refresh".

This is an issue with the cache on your BB browser, not the download itself.

Version 6.0 is great. Love the zoom feature.
A completely non-urgent suggestion: When you next have reason to otherwise update the program, perhaps have it remember the last zoom setting. Now when I quit, it defaults back to small. I would leave it permanently at large.

OK, in case you want more suggestions..

1, Add the current time to the title bar.
2, Better time input fields.

Default Perfect!

Wanted a simple countdown timer, with audible alarm, for my 7130. This works perfectly! Easy to use, easy to understand. Great work!

Same here - the zip does not pull down and the OTA link gives me a page not found. After reading all about this...um...I'd like it!

Thanks,

Derik
