Default Blackberry Messenger Problem - Text Box Freezes

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I did a search on the forum and could not locate a previous thread/discussion about this. I'm using Blackberry Messenger v. 5.0.0.57, on a Blackberry 8900 (OS v.4.6.1.206) and the problem I'm experiencing is that my text/chat window where I enter messages will freeze up and I can no longer see my cursor or what new text I'm entering... I can still type things and hit enter, but I can't see what I'm typing. This happens within individual chat conversations....

Only way to resolve it has been to end the conversation and re-open it but this is happening quite frequently.... Anyone else experiencing this? It's quite a nuisance because if you're in the middle of typing something and it freezes, you have to exit out and can't save what you've already typed out....

To my knowledge a battery pull has not resolved the issue for me....

Any help is appreciated... Thank you...

RIM reports nothing also so at this point I would suggest reloading the OS or at least Blackberry messenger software. It sounds like something is corrupted. Did you download any Apps and this started? If so try deleting them. Another issue may be available memory. Are you running other Apps while this happens? I would try the simple stuff first.

I had this same issue on my 8900 but I don't recall it happening on my new 9700. Probably something with BBM interacting with 4.6.

Now I noticed in some other threads on a similar subject matter. other users commented on it only happening after a particular chat conversation gets too long? I'm wondering if I upgrade to OS 5.0 if I'm going to experience the same problem....
