Default On 8320 is it possible to mute all calls except<more>

Please Login to Remove!

for calls that are personal or from my local area code.

I use my BB 8320 for business and personal. I would like to be able to silence the ring of any business calls after 7pm and have it only ring for friends and any local calls from the 512 area code.

Possible?

Thank you

Go into profiles>scroll down to advance>you can pick a profile to edit or creat a new profile
In the profile change the phone to mute or quite if emails and calendar are a problem change them to mute then go into your address book and assign a special ringtone to friends
Go back to your profile you created and change the do not distrube to except. Those folks you have assigned the ring tones will be allowed to ring through
Just remember to change back to your regular profile in the morning so you will not miss any calls

Thank you for your help. I know I am doing something wrong.

I went into the profile for "Quiet"...made sure that everything was on mute. Then went to the names of people I want to ring through and gave them all the same ring tone....

Then went back into "Quiet" and changed "Do Not Disturb" to YES.......but ALL calls are going straight through to voicemail. I tried calling with my home phone and my other cell but they went right into VM.

What am I doing incorrectly? Am I also able to seet it up for a specific area code to come through?

I'd recommend turning Do Not Disturb off if the profile exceptions aren't working with it on.

As for exceptions based on area code -- the BB can't do that out of the box. I don't know if there are any 3rd party apps that do this but you can search and/or look in the Aftermarket Software forum.

I think there is an app for switching profiles based on time of day but, again, you'll have to look for it unless someone else knows for certain.

Default Thanks

I appreciate your input.

I must be dense.....changed the "Quiet" profile to have everything muted and then at the bottom allow calls from...and I have a list of friends that are checked and all have a different ring tone than the muted ring tone.

When I call the number, you can see the call on the screen but it does not ring. So the "Quiet" profile is working but it is not letting the "USE ACTIVE PROFILE EXCEPT FOR".......

I should point out that the exceptions that I have are multiple names under one line of exceptions....I do not have a separate line item for each exception...could that be the problem.

Thank you

Elliot
