Default Unable to update Blackberry Application Loader.

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

Sorry for the trouble, but i've been having problems trying to update my Blackberry Application Loader in my BB Desktop Manager.

I just downloaded the BB Desktop Manager in my new laptop, and everytime i try to update my OS, they tell me that my

"BB App Loader needs to be updated before you can continue. Do you want to want to update it now?"

When I click yes, a popup says

"Existing BB software has been detected, on you computer and must be closed before proceeding. Disconnect your device and click OK to close these applications. Otherwise click cancel to stop the installation."

When I disconnect my BB and click OK, the updater flashes for a bit, and then the BB Desktop opens again and the whole cycle repeats itself.

They tell me that the BB App loader needs to be updated again.

Can someone help me?

Thank you so much!

You said you unhook your phone from the pc, but do you actually close the program? Desktop Manager. The program can't be running during the upgrade. You can also try rebooting first to make sure its closed. Also you can try uninstalling it through control panel first.

I had this problem before, and I just ignored it and one day it worked for some reason, don't really remember why.

But I suggest updating it without desktop manager open.

Hi,

I did close the Desktop manager. I mean when i clicked ok it automatically shut down the DM.

I have no idea how I can upgrade it without the DM, could you help me please?

Thank you so much! I'm really a noob at such IT stuff.

Hey Kratz,

I found the blackberry folder, but it only contains the Device Manager, Media Sync and Desktop Manager.

:/

So sorry for the inconvenience!

Loader is in

c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

make sure you delete the VENDOR.XML that is in there also.
