Default 8300 Cosmetic Surgery

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys

I've had my 8300 for a while and of course without protecting it I am now displaying scratches on it. I've been meaning to ask you all this, so tonight I remembered and hope you can help me.

1. What do you use to protect your 83xx from scratches?
2. If you have had yours scratched in the past what did you do to remove it?

Thanks in advance.

I've used the zagg invisible shield...it covered the entire device and was very durable but I took it off after a while because of dirt building up around the edges.(due to the stickiness ) All I have on it now if the screen protector which works very well.

Some would say it was a bit expensive and others can be found for cheaper with a quick web search.

I also now of some people who just take there curves apart and repaint them or just order a new housing then replace it that way.

Hope this helped you :D

Best Skins Ever. I think I got 2 screen protectors for about $7.00. Each one has lasted me about 6 months.

I don't use anything. I simply replace any scratched part before I sell it. In my case, I usually scratch the battery door up from setting it on my desk, nightstand, etc.

Also, I couldn't believe how easy it was to change the stock plastics on my 8310. About $30 anywhere like Ebay (including the T5 and T6 drivers) and the BB looks brand new. The YouTube video really shows how quickly it can be done. If you ever go that way you'll say to yourself "Geez, is that it?"

Wirelessly posted (Curve 8330)

Yeah, I have also used that method. It works quite well. Looks brand new!

Thanks I saw the link you posted above. Are there any other site that offer the blackberry accessories that you recommend?

My faceplate was severely broken and lens scratched. HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center ß is where I got a new faceplate, debranded chin cover (doesn't say T-Mobile anymore) and LCD lens cover, T5 & T6 screwdrivers. The changeover took about 15 minutes.

I got onto a site recommended from a user here gsm4world and I got my new housing from there within 7 days. I ripped the housing apart and it took two of us up to 1.5 hours to get it right. We were nervous as hell but two things we followed. One was the picture guide here in the forums. That was a great help and the second was a video on youtube that pointed that showed us to dismantle and reassemble the device.

I have now a black housing on my 8300 and honestly everyone that looks at the device says it looks really sweet. I've lost the Rorgers logo at the bottom but it was hidden with my rubber skin.

Thanks to all that helped. Honestly a good decision overall.

Would it be possible to use spray paint on a faceplate? Of course you'd have to protect the lens, but is it possible?

Are you gonna spray paint the T-Mobile logo on the bottom?

I use a cheapo smoked plastic cover and generic screen protector. Can't complain for <$4 including shipping.
