Some have had success by calling your bb from another phone and not answering, then checking missed calls. I sat on the phone the other day for 30 minutes with Verizon with the same problem. I ended up having to reload the OS to get rid of the missed call icon. My icon appeared when the bb was frozen, running some bad script or something, and someone called but I couldn't answer. I had to pull the battery to unfreeze the bb, but the missed call icon wouldn't go away without an OS reload.

Sometimes an OS wipe and reload is what it takes. You can try using Desktop Manager to clear the call log database. If that doesn't do it, I might suggest upgrading the OS if you're not using the latest.
