Can anyone confirm if it has UMA support?

Seems to be ambiguous as Blackberry.com says that the 9700 supports UMA, whereas Rogers doesn't mention it as supporting their UMA talkspot service.

I'm all over this if it supports UMA, otherwise it will be a big pass...

Since some of us are still *dying* for a detailed list of what's all changed on the Bold 9700, can anyone who's received theirs add to this list for those of us that are watching their clock & calendar not sleeping at night waiting for the 9700???

*Pictures now scroll very cleanly similar to iPhone
*Music Player can fast forward in shorter increments
*Fonts can be reduced to 5
*Ring volume can be adjusted further

So far, I dig it. The UMA tidbit has yet to be figured out, I guess it's set by the carriers though I'm sure the more hardcore BB tinkerers will figure it out. The thing though is that is 3G such a battery killer? So far, I just have EDGE enabled to preserve battery life. I've had this phone for 2 hours and it's been an honest improvement from my Sony Ericsson w580i and Pearl.

To nindee: Wind just got burned pretty hard by the CRTC. It's not all that likely that they are coming to Canada yet since they need to appeal with the supreme court to be accepted.

Had mine for two days now and already updated the OS to the latest leak

I went from the Curve to a Bold 9000 last year and never regretted it. The 9000 was the best phone on the planet. Now, the honour goes to teh new Bold 9700 (IMHO)

Personally I was very surprised at how small it feels in my hand compared to the 9000 but it is a very good feeling. This is obviously a personal opinion but it now slips very easily in my jeans front pocket while the 9000 was just a tad too bulky on the tighter pants.

Also, the weak vibration curse of the 9000 seems to be cured. The 9700 seems to vibrate much stronger which is very welcome for me.
The trackpad is amazingly smooth and intuitive. no problem switching from years of trackball use. I did turn down the sensitivity by 20% though since I found it a bit to quick.

My only complaint is that none of my themes came over from the 9000

Apparently (from some other threads) we have to wait for a new dev kit from RIM before all themes will work properly on the 9700. I was having some issues with the 9000 on OS 5 with themes as well but at least they would be ok until a battery pull.

All my applications are running Ok so far and everything is very quick feeling.

If anyone has specific questions fire them in here.

Actually all 8900 themes seem to work flawlessly for me and 4 others I know with the phone. Try it out!

What I want to know is:

1. How does the keypad compare with the 9000? I have a Bold and a 8900 Curve at the mo and I much prefer the Bold keypad;
2. How does the screen compare? Again, I much prefer the Bold screen as I find it easier to read;
3. Sound. Bold sound is much better than 8900 so which does the 9700 follow?

Appreciate your advice...

1. basically the same, but smaller, because the device is smaller. i.e. its more like the bold keypad then the 8900.

2. no idea.

3. no idea.

The 9000 sound is much better than the 9700. The 9700 speaker is compared to the 8900 (which is why I took the phone back).
