it is bundled with an earlier version, can't remember exactly, should be .3x
After the installation is completed, and unit boots up, it will have a '*' at the BBM icon and request you to download the latest version (.57).

Overall Ok, except that I find out that the "File Free" is at least 20,000,000 bytes lesser ..

So is this worth it, or wait until there are more details?

if you want to be able to run YM, MSN, BBMessenger without data plan , this is the OS release! :D ...before RIM comes out to 'fire-fight' this leakage.

So far so good with 5.0.0.661... Little to no problems and the upgrade went more smoothly than usual. (i.e. I lost less settings than I usually do)

Though, one thing I'm perplexed by is that the spell checker functionality seems to have completely disappeared. It's simply gone. Any thoughts on this? Is anyone else experiencing the same thing (or not)? (I know someone else using this release and he said his is there and intact.)

Thanks!

Exactly... but we would have to figure out a way to upgrade without a Data Plan first...

Anyone?

Simple. Find a friend who has a data plan and ask him nicely to change his handheld with yours in the Control Panel of his BB account. Then borrow his SIM card, insert it in your phone, make the upgrade and at the end, reverse the process above. ;)

Are you talking about predictive input?

Go to Options-> Language and Text Input -> Input Language -> Show Test Input Options

From there you can toggle Predictive Input and its corresponding options.

@alejoal07: If you have a BB data plan, just login into your account. You should find there "Change Device" button.

@zizo: Just Facebook updated itself. Everything else it was from the previous OS or from the new one.

Exciting. I've had this sitting around as a beta for a while, but not been bothered to install it...
