Default Texts Showing in BB Messenger

Please Login to Remove!

I'm not sure if this is specific to the 9700, but this weird thing is happening where my text message conversations are showing up in the "Chat" section of Blackberry Messenger.

Has anyone run into this or know how to fix it?

You can stop it by NOT linking your contacts in BBM to your address book

What exactly do you mean? Do you mean not having the contact in the address book named the same as the BBM display name?

I had that happen with my Bold on the new 5.0 OS and then I changed a contacts BBM name and did a hard reset(battery pull), now no more threaded sms in my BBM!

Did you try what qweasd had suggested (changing BBM name for the contact), or did you actually remove the contact link as jason1114 mentioned? The latter would entail going into BBM, scrolling to a contact, hitting the menu key, and selecting the 'Remove Contacts Link' option. Just figured I'd throw it out there in case you hadn't tried the second method.

Thanks for clarifying this, now it worked.

yes.
Its not a feature of the 9700, its a feature of OS 5 for the 9700, as well as the 9530, 9550, 9520, and all newer devices that will eventually get OS 5.
