AppWorld is currently only accessible from the USA, Canada and the UK. The UAE is none of the above.
Likewise, AppWorld in those countries require THE BlackBerry Data Plan, not a routine global data plan.

Preview, as in the "Try It" button in your Profiles ringtone setup? That works correctly for me in .141

I've said in other threads, many have encountered this issue, but re-installing the OS will solve it. It takes no more than 5 minutes to do that.

When I upgraded to .141, I didn't lose my service books, but I'm on another carrier and I don't know if it works the same for all.

Even then you're not sure it'll work properly because of USB driver emulation.

Hm.. I ****ed up the installation..
I downloaded the file, installed it. But i went into the Research in Motion-folder under program files, and not under common files.. So i thought i didnt install the update. So i installed it several times after that, before it hit me that i was supposed to go into the common files folder.
Well.. But now my "About" on my blackberry says: "v4.7.0.141 (Platform 4.0.0.174)"
Is that this update ? Or have i screwed something up?

I dunno if you screwed something, but my BB says "v4.7.0.141 (Platform 4.0.0.174)" so might have got it right.

When I go through the update process as in the first post, and launch the software wizard, I get asked which programme I want installed - from a list which doesn't include the software update. I searched, using the add button, but still can't find anything...not that I really know what file I'm looking for.

Maybe you are installing the OS, and those are applications which come with the OS. I don't exactly remember the exact steps of the process. BTW, did you delete the vendor.xml file?

Firstly I tried to download the software from Blackberry using the link on the first post in this thread. I got part way then had an error message about a missing file. Tried the download several times but got same error. I then went to the v4.7.0.141 Platform 4.0.0.174 which I had previously downloaded to my PC and installed to the phone. I wanted to reinstall it because of some errors such as no sound preview of ringtones/alerts. Yes, I did delete the vendor.xml file.

You are on .141 now, and you want to reload the OS, right? If I recall well, you don't have to choose between any OS'. I think that the setup shows which applications you want to install. Just click next...

When I run Loader.exe I get the setup wizard. Running the wizard gives me a viewing pane which lists 12 applications currently on my Storm e.g. Google Sync and Facebook. A tickbox at each gives me the choice of removing or retaining the application. No applications relate to the upgrade installation. Cliking next brings up a new screen which says 'no actions are required'.
