Default PDFs on the 8900 - sweet!

Please Login to Remove!

Just wanted to add another awesome plus with the 8900. The screen is amazing, andd I can actually read pdf attachments (e.g., business letters and attachments) without zooming or any other hassle. Just open the attachment and read! This is a HUGE plus for me.

Try opening a letter and go to Menu then Text only. Somehow it formats the text in your font size on the screen. The words will actually break in half and continue on the next line but it's so easy to read and you don't need zoom. Very cool.

Hi all,
wonder what should i do or setup in my 8900 in order to view the .pdf? I tried to open up a .pdf attachment from yahoo email (thru wifi) , but it says "The item you selected cannot be displayed. Do you wish to save the item?". Any clue?

"from yahoo email (thru wifi)"... by this I am guessing you are browsing Yahoo mail via it's WAP site. If you do not have a 3rd party PDF viewer installed in your device, you cannot view them unless you are on BIS/BES. For BIS/BES, the mail server renders the PDF into picture objects and then transmits the same to the device.

The fact of the matter is that even if you are on BIS/BES, once you save the PDF onto your device, you will not be able to view the PDF without any 3rd party utility like Repligo or Docs to Go Premium version.

Does that answer your question?
