Thumbs up Use Lotus Notes password 4 Enterprise Activation??

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone know? Say if someone had lost connection to the BES overnight and in the morning they tried to do enterprise activation using their Lotus Notes password....Would it work?

what if they were plugged into the desktop manager and signed into notes?? Obviously that would trigger activation, but what if it didn't and they were just able to activate using their Lotus Notes password?

I'm curious, because someone is telling me that is what they did......

To my knowledge a Lotus Notes password should not have any link to the enterprise activation password. Not to mention that enterprise activation passwords expire after 48hrs by default.

Were they removed from the BES? I don't understand how they would loose connection to the BES like that. Unless the user did a wipe...

right right. They were not removed from the BES, just recently added a week ago.
I have users that loose connection all the time to different BES'. Phone problems, network problems, etc.
I look after over 10 BES' in about 6 different locations.

Im guessing they just plugged into the desktop with the BB manager open and just so happens they decided to try their notes password to activate and it and it just started the desktop wired activation or sumthing. That's the only thing i can come up with.

Did they possibly connect to a different BES from the desktop manager? I could see that causing this. I don't get many users with issues in my small environment.

If the user activated their device via the Desktop Manager Enterprise version then yes, connecting and entering their LN password should link them to the BES and initiate EA.

If however, the user activates wireless, then the password must be set by the BES admin via the BlackBerry Manager application.
