Default Nationwide BlackBerry Outage - 8/19 @ 2:15 AM EST and continuing

Anyone else without BlackBerry service right now? I just IM'd boygenius and he's showing up 'edge' in NYC on Cingular. I've got 'edge' on T-Mobile just south of Atlanta. Anyone else experiencing issues? It's kind of late in most places, so I'm sure most people won't notice one way or the other.

Just had a look on my BES servers. All of them are connected, but no users have received email since 2:14 AM EST. This is across 5 carriers (T-Mobile, Cingular, Verizon, Sprint, Nextel) and all across the United States (from coast to coast and all in the middle).

RIM customer support lines appear to be busy.

and in irving texas with lowercase 'edge' at 0240ct.

of course this is typically and traditionally the 'maintenance window' time for network and mainframe operations ...

agreed, but major accounts should be notified, either by RIM or the carrier.

you're quite correct if they are working from a formal 'change' and it's not emergency maintenance.

ps: just found this on pinstacker. not sure of the authenticity:

My BES lost connection several times... 23:14 PDT-23:19, 23:22-00:09, and for a second at 1:01.

I too noticed this outage. I was not able to use any software that required me to connect.

It came back while I was talking on my phone early this morning. After I hung up, I noticed that I had EDGE instead of edge and all applications were functioning normally.
