Default Uninstalling VZW Navigator increased my phone's performance

Please Login to Remove!

I was having the following issues:

When trying to answer a call, I'd hit the pickup button, the phone would stop ringing, but would not go to the standard 'in call' screen. Sometimes would get a net.rim.somethingorother exception error.

When switching to/from camera mode, the phone was excruciatingly slow. By the time my daughter was finished doing whatever cute thing it was that she was doing, my phone finally decided to go into camera mode (and be responsive).

Switching from landscape to portrait mode (and back) was laggy.

My buddy told me about a tip he heard, which was to uninstall the VZW Navigator software (which I will probably never use)...once I did this, my phone is acting 200% better...like what I was expecting when I got the phone. Up until now, I've not been terribly impressed by the OS' performance (I did update to the latest VZW OS Wednesday, with no real difference at that point). But now, it is like a whole new ballgame.

Just wanted to let you all know.

I've seen conflicting posts about whether this actually helps performance or not. I wonder if it's on a case-by-case basis or something.

Ah - did a search in the forum, but didn't see it. Just wanted to make it known if it wasn't here already.

I did it, and I can attest to the fact that it definitely helped out my Storm, not A LOT like some people have seen, but it definitely helped. I don't know if it is me, but my lag on the accelerometer is definitely decreasing...

My 8330 performs better without it.

hmm how does it compare to just making sure the the application is closed(not available in the application switcher). i do notice lagginess when many apps are open.
