I ordered my upgrade 8800 on Wednesday. Got a text message on Thursday am telling me that the order was placed and it would be charged to my account. Then I called Friday to check its tracking number and tmobile said it wasn't shipped. Called today they said it was on back ordered, called 2 more times to make sure it was true and they said it was on back order - and it is VERY TRUE! You can no longer upgrade since the demand is way too high for it. 4 reps told me that.

I thought BB Forums was a place where we can discuss the various BB products? I am merely voicing my opinion. My opinion is that the keyboard is too small. So yes, I guess I am bashing the functionality of the 8800. I am only on about the 8800 and not their other products.

My overall opinion of RIM is the highest.

It depends on when you bought your pearl. With Tmo you have to have a year before you can "upgrade" your phone according to them. Now if you want buy a new phone within that year then you can but you have to pay the full price.

And it is a great place to discuss BB's...

Instead of simply saying the keyboard is horrible maybe you can describe in more detail why you think it is horrible...

Instead of simply saying the gimmicks and gadgets have hampered the functionality of the 8800 why not be more specific? If you think GPS is a gimmick then that is fine and you are entitled to your opinion but explain how GPS hampers the functionality of the device.... Does it cause increased reboots? Does it cause email to not get delivered? Does it cause the phone quality to suffer???? ect......

For all of you presently with the T-Mo 8800 - did you all get Telenav pushed to your device overnight?

This morning I awoke to a very nice Telenav Icon on my device. Quite interesting.

I have a Cingular 8800 unlocked on T-Mobile and I did get the TeleNav icon last night as well as Handango InHand. I thought that was odd, and wondered where they came from.

No Handango for me yet.

But this is interesting. Now when I click on the Telenav icon, I get an error message: 'A problem occured while trying to redner the page'.

Nah I'm in the office.

Funny thing is, I can hit any webpage in the office accept those going to T-Zones (which I am assuming Telenav is being pulled from), since the 'Tmobile' sign pops up when I click on the Telenav icon, versus the 'blackberry' signage when I browse any other website.

Ya you gotta be outside where it can lock onto the satellites....

Also the icon will initially bring you to a web page where you have to agree to the terms of service, then you enter your phone # and email address.... Then it will bring you to a link for the actual download of the application...

Yes mine says v5.1 at application load..... It is pretty sweet and might just be worth paying the $10 a month to keep once the trial is over.... Voice prompts, turn by turn and traffic avoidance.... Pretty sweet!

I have court at 1300 so I might try it out then and see how well it does

Did it say 4.7.0.18 on the download screen? when I go to the OTA that is what I see for the download.

Default buying an 8800

Im purchasing an 8800 today. Im with tmobile and am not extending my contract. Is there any reason for me to spend the extra $ to get a tmobile branded one or will an unlocked cingular one be fine? Are there any differences?

Default Frustrated...

I received my 8800 from T-Mobile yesterday. The SIM was dead so after 3 calls to tech support they had me go to a store today for a replacement. I can make phone calls but no email or internet access. I was told it takes 24 hours for both to become functional. Is this a true statement? Will the browser appear on my 8800 when it becomes functional? Right now I do not have a browser in my applications. Forgive my ignorance, this is my first BB.
