Default Got 8700c unlocked for TMO use...

Please Login to Remove!

...and now have a couple of questions. I've seen a bit of stuff around these forums for how to do some of this stuff, but I can't find specific answers to my questions, so here goes:

1. Can I download a T-Mobile theme? If so, where?
2. How do I rearrange my icons on my home screen?
3. My contacts didn't move over when I restored my data from my 7230. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks!

im not sure about the contacts and the theme but if you press ALT+clickwheel then click move it will move the icons...i dont think the desktop manager saves contacts automatically maybe if you put them on outlook but im sure someone can give you better info bout this issue

Alt just moves the cursor/selector vertically instead of horizontally.

On a side note, this thing is VERY cool.

1. Download and install the latest firmware from T-Mobile; you'll get the theme
2. Already covered
3. Yes, they should move over. Do another backup of the 7230 with Desktop Manager and do a full restore to the 8700.

At the risk of sounding like a total idiot, where exactly do I find the latest t-mobile firmware, and which install method do I need to run? Just run the executable from my desktop, or run it through the desktop manager?

Both.

Run the exe. Search for "Vendor.xml" file on your PC. Delete it. Then plug in your 8700. Follow the yellow brick road.

If it doesn't update automatically, go through the Application Loader.

I deleted Vendor.xml, ran the .exe, and then noticed that a new Vendor.xml file was created with some T-Mobile code (or whatever) in it.

So when I try this, I get a message in the application loader (when I run it through the desktop manager) that says, "No system software was found for your device."

Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

Yes. Re-read what I wrote. You're having an issue because you didn't follow instructions.

Run the exe. THEN delete the Vendor.xml file.
