Default Download Speed from Blackberry.com for Patches etc...

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Can I please get some people to provide download speeds and aproximate location (city/country) when downloading service packs etc.. from blackberry.com.

Down here in Oz it is a dismal 20kb/s no matter which ISP you use or physical location, seems to be normal as clients continually complain.

I find it hard to believe that it is only Australia that has a 20kb/s cap on downloads so post away!

Thanks in Advance.

RIM download speeds are as appalling as their website in general.

From Southern California, I always get 60kb/s when downloading from RIM. They clearly are capping download speeds.

Fantastic!

One thing that is severely annoying is the download speeds.

I'm still suprised to see that no one is breaking 100k / sec especially in the US where MS downloads are as quick as your connection allows.

Keep em coming.

U usually get around 200-300kb/sec. I'm also working from a very large data center with LOTS and LOTS of OC12, OC3, T3, etc.

I HATE how you can't PAUSE and RESUME downloads with RIM. WTF guys. When it takes 2 days to download a 400 meg file cause IE keeps erroring out at the end. (I hate IE too but it should work to freekn download a file).

Damn cheepskates can't pay for some descent hosting servers?? I guess it's all dumped into their databases. pfft
