I think we're all going to hear lots of dates from lots of people in shops and call centres. Truth is (and we buy straight from the distribution channel) no one knows as it often turns up when it turns up. More often than not we'll hear from our distributor the day before that the stock will be with us. Things will start to trickle through from Monday 4th onwards, with some places not getting stock until around 25th.

I'd always wondered why Voda would launch when all their corporate customers are on holiday.

Called Orange again today. Both Upgrade and disconnection. Only information available is Mid July.

My 18 month contract has ended and they offered me Sim Free but that means I cant upgrade for another 3 months.

My current phone is not working brilliant and I need a new phone.

Only two phones that interest me are Iphone and Blackberry 9000 Bold.

I called Blackberry office in UK. Took about 25 mins to speak to someone. They have no information on release date. In fact would not answer any questions. My last question was do you think the Bold will be released before December 2009? Answer " I have no information".

Totally off topic my friend, but as you ask I was there. Read our coverage here:

Not off-topic in my opinion. The launch means that the date is getting near and that RIM decided to dangle a carrot in front of the many who are coming out of their Curve contracts to entice them to wait for the Bold in June/July/August/September and not migrate to the iPhone 3G promised land

In fairness to them, they are probably spending buckets of money to correct these last minute problems.

Voda gave me a free Sony Ericsson C902 just to appease me and keep me happy until the launch of the Bold.

You're obviously a pain in the arse customer that they just wanted off the phone then. Congratulations!

Does anyone know how much it will cost in UK?

FYI I phoned O2 today and they said end Aug.

I also phone Surrey Carphones who supply my Company with Voda BBerrys and they said beginning Sept.

Both had no idea on prices.

I get mine for free directly from Vodafone and ONLY accept 12 month contracts.

Vodafone told me two days ago that launch has been put back untill Sept 1st BUT to give them a call mid August because they may bring it forward by a week or so.

I'm still hopeful that they will launch 3rd week in August.

Spoke to Vodafone again today (they must be getting tired of me) and they still maintain 1st of September but to call them in a couple of weeks to see if that has changed.

I'm still hopeful that the Bold will be available in 2 weeks in the UK.
