handheld and email client.

We use Lotus Notes/Domino Server 6.5.4, Bes 4.0.4.5. The Lotus Notes client is 6.5.1. The handheld is a 7100g. Only one user has this issue.

I have checked the handheld Email Reconcilation settings. Delete On is set to "Mailbox and Handheld". Wireless Reconcile is "On", On Conflicts is "Mailbox Wins."

The user is set up on the server like all the other users.

What have I missed?

What version of the software is on the handheld, and the server [blackberry]?


Has this just started? Or has this user never synced? Have you tried a simple off/on with the Wifi?

Check the ACL on his mailbox to make sure the BES has the proper rights.

Not to point the obvious out but is hide filed messages set to yes.
Messages > options > General Options > Hide Filed messages "YES"
Never used lotus notes with bes so cannnot really help here but on exchange if you empty the deleted items before the reconcile now has took place the item will never delete off the blackberry.


Make sure the mail is actually still in the deleted items folder and perform a reconcile now.

This user is on a BES with 60 other users, he is the only one with this issue. I"ll check his handheld settings again, they should be the same as everyone elses. He is not a user that would know how to change them, but I'll check.

I have rebooted it, turned off all the features and then turned them back on with no success so far.

1st ) I would double check that hide filed messages is set to yes as by default this is no.

2nd) send a test message to lotus notes on the blackberry open the mail & hold down "alt" and type "view". to get the ref id.
delete the message from lotus notes and make sure that the item is in the deleted items folder. Click the scroll wheel on the blackberry and perform a reconcile now.

Search the bes logs for the REF id check for any errors. also run the messageflow.exe on the logs which you get with the resource kit.
