Default Planing to buy Torch + 1 more Question

Please Login to Remove!

I am planning to buy the torch 9800 after using the bold 9000 for two years now.

So is there any disadvantages in this torch or everybody who are using it are really pleased with it so far?

I really need 2 hear your thoughts.

Last point, Is there a charger for torch to charge the external battery without placing the battery in the phone 2 charge it? is that thing available or not?

I am extremly happy, but only AFTER upgrading the operating system to the most recent leaked version. Before that it was sluggish and slow. Now it is a rocketship.

I just upgraded Thursday from a 9000 and I LOVE it. I would recommend it all the way.

Really depends on how comfortable you are using a touch screen.

If you purchase the 9800, give yourself the whole break in period with the device,I am positive you will stay with the 9800.

Go tot he store and play with one for a while and see if you can make it work for you before you buy it.

the touchscreen was awkward at first (for me). But over time and several updates I am doing fine now. My biggest problem was loosing BIS. .246 update took care of that problem.

I REALLY like mine. I too upgraded from a 9000. I still use the physical keyboard for any serious email, but appreciate the flexibility the touch screen offers for navigating.

Having owned a 9000 and a 9700, the Torch is far and away the best RIM device to date. The ability to have multiple interface capabilities with the touchscreen, trackpad and physical keyboard make the communications and web browsing as well as customization option more productive and enjoyable. I definitely don't miss the size of the 9000 or the keyboard or the trackball. The Torch does have a solid feel and is a bit heavier.

Having also moved from a 9000, thumbs up all the way around here. Though, I recommend buying via amazon.com at only $99 (with AT&T plan), rather than via AT&T directly at $199. Definitely took me a few days to retrain myself, but love it!

Coming from a 9700 I can say the more I use the Torch the more I love it. Took about 3-4 days to really get comfortable with it.

Can you write sms messages via touchscreen (I find the buttons on my 9700 a bit small and awkward)
