Default Programs that load on startup

Please Login to Remove!

I'm not sure if this is an OS issue or not, but here it is anyway.

I have a Curve 8900. I have a number of apps installed, but the three that are of interest are YouMail, Live Search, and Mobipocket. These three apps always load after a battery pull or reset. I discovered this because Live Search seems to cause significant battery drain, perhaps by GPS calls. I do better with it closed, except when I'm actually using it. Oddly, the only way to close it is to open it up through the Application Switcher, and close it from there. If I simply go to the Live Search icon to open and then close it, it stays active in the Switcher. To close YouMail (which in any case gets activated again if there's voice mail), I can open it either through the Switcher or through its home screen icon and close it. Mobipocket can't be closed at all!

So, my question is: Is there a way to prevent these three apps from loading at startup? I assume that this is an OS question, which is why I'm posting it here.

Thanks.

No one replied to this, but I just want to add: As far as I can tell, Live Search is the only program that it's possible to load multiple instances of in the BB OS (version 4.6.1.250, at least). That seems odd. The fact that Mobipocket is always running also seems odd.

Maybe it's an OS 4.6+ thing, but on my 4.5 device Live Search does not automatically open upon booting.

Thanks for adding that. I find it very odd that Live Search and Mobipocket load upon booting. It's even odder that more than one instance of Live Search gets created if I don't access it from the Switcher; and very odd that Mobipocket won't close at all. I haven't switched to a 5.x beta, because Facebook doesn't work under that series yet, so I can't tell whether the problem will go away with 5.x OS.
