Default Install Opera

Please Login to Remove!

I apologize in advance that this is likely a stupid question. My wife has an unlimited data plan with Sprint - not a BIS or BES plan. I have been trying to download Opera on her Pearl vis USB cable, but have not been successful. When I use the Application Loader from the BB Desktop Manager, it says the file is not found. When I download Opera it comes in a zip file with two files (extensions .alx and .cod). How come I am having such difficulty with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Unfortunately, when I try that it says, "Error: No Additional applications designed for your device were found."

Do I need to have a .alx or .cod decoder on my computer to transfer it through USB?

Hi

When you select ADD in the Desktop Manager applicaton loader you need to find and click on the .alx file, this puts it in the loader, then select next then next again ( I think ) then finish.

If you get the 'no applications found for your device' error again you need to download and install the Operating Sytem version for your device from your carriers website onto your pc. Then do the process again.

To find your Operating System Version go to options > about.

Hope that helps

If my operating system is V4.3.0.71 is that not the correct version? How do I get the right operating system to be able to use Opera? Thanks for all your help.

It says 4.3.15 (which appears to be different than the one on my phone V4.3.0.71). Can you tell me how to get them the same?

If I use 4.3.0.71 for my OS on the Pearl and BlackBerry Desktop Manager v4.3, that should allow me to download opera to my pc and then USB it to my pearl, right? Am I missing anything?

hm. thats really weird. turn the phone off and reconnect it without powering it on. it will power on by itself and windows will try to install drivers for it. that might help with something

No luck either. I'm sure I am missing something small, but it is frustrating. Is there any other way to get Opera onto the Pearl without BIS or BES access?
