I have been trying to unlock my 7100g fo weeks now. I got the code form cingular after several attempts. The code they gave me is only 15 characters long and I've tried to input with a SIM card in and out and always got a "code error" error. I went to the RIM website and discovered that if you have an unlock code with less than 16 digits, you have to download a patch. I downloaded the patch and uploaded it to my BB and tried again twice to no avail. I have now used up all of my 10 attempts to enter the code and would like to see if anyone has any ideas on what I should do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After 10 attempts the SIM is fried, or at least that's how it goes for Nextel phones. If you can try to find a new SIM (on eBay maybe) and have the service moved onto it. Hope that helps.
