just getting lots of annoying hangs, application not quitting or not starting. next time it works perfectly, then it breaks again. very annoying

Default Also having problems

PM is borked here. Seemed to work a few times, now can't find anything in iCal at all. Contacts work, iCal Calendar and Tasks just don't sync anything at all.

Tried a reinstall following BB's instructions on their website about how to "Completely remove PocketMac".

Will try some of the ideas above and report back... uggh.

Both PocketMac and Mark/Space have had developer releases of Leopard for a long time, and none of these interfaces they're using changed in the final release. There's no reason for this BS of not having their Leopard versions READY TO GO. Idiots.

Default Leopard Syncing

So i have now spent more then 10 hours talking to Mac, Rogers, Rim and Everyone else. I have read everything there is to read. It is not doable. I followed the advise the Kdee gave and well it almost worked and well it still ****ed up. so final conclusion after talking to everyone is they are aware of it and are working hard to fix it. I will let you know as my family works for mac and brother works for PocketMac.

I have 10.5 now (easy install thank you!) and dont know wether to go the PocketMac route or try the whole parallells XP DM route.

the first way seems like it's easier. The second promises to be a PITA probably.

But I read that most folks are not so thrilled with PM. will leopard and and other way even work yet?

Rim doesnt seem to like Mac folks yet, huh?

There is a third option - Missing Sync. A lot of folks here (including me) are happy with it.

I installed Leopard on my three Macs (MacBook Pro, G4 PowwerBook and G5iMac); no problems with PocketMac at all on any of them. I only sync contacts and calendar, however.

I just installed Pocket Mac 4.0.20b (newest version) for the first time to sync my new 8130 (Yay!) and it crashes on launch on a clean Leopard install (Boo!). Any ideas?

My Pocket Mac software no longer syncs the calendar, tasks or notes. Just sits there saying it is syncing, but it isn't, no matter how long you leave it. Nightmare! Pocket Mac say they are working on it. We shall see, but I hope it is soon.

Default Syncing

Well i have been talking to Pocketmac for some time now about this syncing problem. I just nuked my computer and re-installed everything. as to see what would happen i tried syncing everything including my itasks for the first time and it worked. after that i tried it again and it did not work again. Pocketmac is in the middle of making a patch. just hang on a little bit longer everyone.

Just curious -- those people who are happy with Missing Sync: do you have the duplicate entries problem in Calendar?

I'm using Missing Sync and have no problems with duplicate entries. At first I was reluctant to purchase a syncing program, but after using it, I must say it is quick and painless. Plus, being able to sync photo albums from iPhoto and playlists from iTunes is pretty slick. Hopefully they will add video syncing in the next update now that 4.3 supports it.

Default Missing Sync for BB vs. PocketMac

Can someone with Missing Sync tell me i call select Contact CATEGORIES to sync with Leopard? I have roughly 11,000 contacts, and I don't want more than a few hundred on my BB8830. I am using Address Book, iCal, Mail - Entourage no longer offers a great advantage over the stock programs in Leopard 10.5 as far as I'M concerned.

ALSO, do Tasks, Notes, etc.... all sync well with the above programs?

Thanks for your help. Great thread.

yes, but the contact CATEGORIES selection is critical - I need to be sure that I can select, say, Customers, and Vendors, not the entire contacts database in Address Book...

Can you selectively choose a TYPE or CATEGORY of Address Book contact to sync?

Thanks!

Actually, this time they DID include the category selection, so we Mac folks (who happen to prefer quality over quantity) DO have good option.
