Default 7100 problems. Time for a new phone?

Please Login to Remove!

I am running v 4.0.2.49 It has constantly dropped calls. Don't know if this is due to T-Mobile service or not. I have been having some new problems within the last week. Twice now when I have been talking to someone the entire phone goes dead - black screen. I push all the buttons, including the power on and nothing happens. After about a minute or two the charging light on the top right starts blinking red and then goes green. Then the screen comes back on to the white screen with the hourglass. Then it will come back on. Also lately I always have a rythmic type static interferance. When I call someone they can't hear me. When they call me right back the connection is fine. I had some voicemail and couldn't hear it at all because the static was so bad. Put the sim card in another phone, called the voice mail and could hear it just fine.

Is there any hope or is it time for a new phone?

Thanks

I did that on my 7105t as well and noticed a difference, and my friend with the 7100t upgraded as well and a lot of his problems disappeared

When I go to the Hong Kong site do I chose BB desktop software v 4.1? Or is that the one for your computer?

That's the one for your computer. You want that and the Handheld OS for the 7100.

Maybe a dumb question, but I only see a download for 7100g. I am pretty sure my BB is just a 7100. Is that the one that I want?

Every 7100 has a letter at the end. The only "different" one is the Nextel 7100i. ALl of the others can use the 7100g code. G, R, T, V, X are all the same...

I downloaded the desktop software and the device software. Connected my blackberry and it says there are no updates needed. So I guess I do have the most up to date software.

I tried using the earbud for the first time and I can hear the voicemail clearly. I think the noise interferance I'm getting must be from the speaker in the phone itself. Also when I try to put it on speaker phone, it doesn't work. I guess the phone is broke.

Close down Desktop Manager
Locate and delete "Vendor.XML" on your C: drive.
Restart Desktop Manager and see if it loads a new OS.
