I've downloaded google maps v 4.4.0 on my blackberry curve 3g OS 6.0 and facebook as well. What is more, my o2 web & wifi bolt on was activated yesterday but still cannot connect to these apps even when use wifi! I can use bb app world, browser using wifi. When i try to open google maps it gives this error on initialization: Network Unavailable: ''This application requires a data connection and some Blackberry devices require recondifuration to work properly. Please visit Google Maps on your computer for more info''.
The same situation when I try to use the facebook app from my blackberry facebook says, ''You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want to use this application, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan''.
APN settings are all enabled

what should i do ?

You would need to contact your service provider and add a BlackBerry data service. However, O2 does not offer that on Pay&Go. You would need to switch to a contract plan or switch to Orange which does offer BlackBerry Data on prepaid.

wow really ? Does the bolt on which i activated yesterday not allow for using google maps and facebook app ?

O2 does offer a BlackBerry option on PAYG. Call them to check up on this and whether it has been activated properly. In some cases it can take multiple days for the service to fully activate.

I found a tarrif Text and Web for BB. Should I activate it now ? I still dont understand why facebook doesnt work through wifi connection and google maps as well ? THANK ALL OF U !!!

Yes the Blackberry Text and Web tariff is the one you need.
Or Simplicity for Blackberry SIM Only.
Get them to activate it, it may take 24 hours.

Because they require a blackberry data plan to work, and then will work through wi-fi. It's just the way it is with Blackberries.
