All your commers, are, making, me, dizzy lol

Anyway. I believe if you have a simcard what is 3g enabled you can still browse but it will cost you. Personally i wouldnt NOT want a unlimited 3g price plan.

Just my opinion though.

OP, I have moved your posts into a new thread, as they were not related to the discussion that you posted them in. Thanks.

An unlocked Storm on ATT will work just fine. You will get EDGE, not 3G. There will be no other difference in the device.

Wait wait wait.. So youre telling me I can pick up a Storm, unlock it, stick my SIM from my AT&T 8310 in, and expect to use the Storm just as my Curve???

Really dont care about the 3G, EDGE is just fine for the browsing I do..
Really really wanted to get one when I saw them announced but still no word about whether AT&T will get it (I doubt it cause they got the iPhone right??)..
The screen size is to die for and if itll work, Im getting one!
Probably work out cheaper than cancelling my AT&T contract a year early and moving to Verizon..

Yes, yes yes.

After you have the device unlocked, follow the directions in this post EXACTLY as written, and it will work. I know. I have followed this procedure many dozen times.

1. Download the ATT service books here. Unzip the file on your PC and remember where you placed the file on your PC.

2. On the PC, go to C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\ResearchInMotion\Share d\LoaderFiles\OS version\Java.
Create a new folder and name is ATT. Find the .cod named net_rim_bb_browser_dameon and move the cod to your new folder.

3. Plug in device and open DM > AppLoader > Add/Remove Programs and work your way through the process to remove the net_rim_bb_browser_dameon module.
Close DM on completion.

4. Open DM again. Go to Backup/Restore > Advanced. On the right is the Storm's data and service books. On the left select File > Open > Select the service book file you downloaded. Click once to highlight it, and then click the bottom arrow (to move it from the left box to the right).
Go back to main menu of DM.

5. Go to C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\ResearchInMotion\Share d\Loader\OS version\Java then to the folder you created named ATT. Right click the module > Cut.
Go back to main Java folder and paste it back.

6. Plug in device and open DM > AppLoader > Add/Remove > and proceed your way through. You will see net_rim_bb_browser_dameon.cod file being replaced.

7. Now go to AT&T BIS Page log in and resend your service books. Then on your Storm go to Option > Advanced Options > TCP/APN should say
APN: wap.cingular
Username:WAP@CINGULARGPS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

8. You may need to reboot the BB one more time.

I've had to do this after each OS upgrade, but it works!

my friend just got his phone unlocked on AT&T and this worked perfectly fine, the only difference was he couldn't register the device on the site cause it said it was registered to another carrier...plus he was going from the iPhone to the Storm (another one crossed over!!)...this might be the reason, but his phone works perfectly fine without registering the device...(i guess)

Oh and in order to get EDGE he just upgraded to a hybrid OS and then I made him one using .109 and a couple of other versions...

hckallstar101-- I don't want to assume that you have read post #9 in this thread.

So, have you?

You can get them for about $450 on CraigsList in California

Yes, state specifically what you couldn't complete.

No one can help you unless you are completely clear about what you did, didn't or couldn't do.

Saying "it didn't work" won't fly.

I'm a fan of the Storm, but to go from an iPhone to a Storm, I think is a downgrade.
