Default Stuck at HourGlass, Turns Off, Repeats

Please Login to Remove!

The Problem:

-My BlackBerry Curve 8310 powers on.
-It stays at the Hourglass screen for about 30 seconds
-The screen goes Black
-The Red LED lights up
-Then this process repeats.

I tried to reinstall the OS and it seems that it worked successfully, but when I tried to turn it on, nothing has changed.
(When I reinstalled the OS the blackberry went to the screen where it shows that the device is connected to the PC, so it seemed to have worked perfect)

I tried to use JL_Cmder to Wipe the device but it doesnt seem to work either.

EDIT:

I also completed this method, but when it finished i was left with the same problem

Hmm i realized that the JL_Cmder wasnt even wiping my device..it wouldnt connect

i just allowed the Desktop manager to install the OS halfway.. only up to the point where it says "app error 507 (i think thats the #)"

I then continued to wipe it with JL_Cmder

and now im using app loader to install the OS again.
Its not done yet, lets see if this workss I HOPE

aka, did you install many third party apps on your BlackBerry? I wonder because I have heard that the hourglass is sometimes a sign of all the memory been eaten up ... and 30 seconds is how long the emergency freeing of memory on a berry usually lasts before the device is forced to reboot.

It sounds like you have a dead device. If you have tried JL_Cmder to wipe it and reload the OS and it still has the problem, something is wrong.

OP, I had to do the same as John Clark. I believe I've only seen 2 people mention recovering from this. At some point they've gotten JL_Cmdr to wipe the device - after many tries. Then they've gotten the OS back on.

Mine, after a failed JL_Cmdr attempt, went from the rebooting cycle to a completely dead screen and red flashing indicator light.
