Hi,

My friend's Blackberry Bold is having some weird issues.

As we all know, assuming if we wish to get to someone's contact number, we just need to key in the name (via the QWERTY keypad) and the name and contact number will show on the display.

However his Bold now only accepts numeric entries. Meaning to say, if he want to look for John Doe, he cannot punch in John Doe on the keypad. He has to punch in John Doe's number (which no one remembers these days) manually.

Any idea what seems to be the issue and how to resolve it?

Maybe the Dial From Home Screen option is set to No. Go into the phone app, activate the menu and then choose options, then general options (OS 5), not sure what the steps are for the 4.x OS.

However a hard reset did the trick instead.
