I have a free GPS app from amaze already. I found TeleNav GPS was already on my BB. I just wanted to know has anyone used TeleNav yet and is it worth the 9.99 a month

For a couple of years, I love it. TeleNav is hands down the best GPS directional application on the market for the BlackBerry, commercial or free.

IF you need turn by turn voice directions on the BB (and various other GPS cabilities like weather by GPS, searching for local business, etc.), the $10/month is great.

I was looking for a GPS with traffic on it anyways the traffic in my city is horrible. i think i get 30 days free so I'm going to give it a try thanks

Amaze is okay, and so is Nav4All, but they don't have voice directions that name the street. Instead you get "Your turn is coming up" and "Turn left in 300 yards" instead of "Turn left on raskin Blvd"

I know AT&T gives you 30 days free to try out Navigator, which is the GPS version of Telenav maps. Just make sure you have a data plan. You won't want to pay for that ala carte. I think you can also try AT&T GPS for a day at a time, if you travel very seldom.

I know it's a lifesaver in finding an address in another city for a job interview.

Not worth it, use google maps it uses the GPS already enabled in your device and its free.

I trialed both the TeleNav and the Garmin apps and found I liked the Garmin Mobile better. Garmin Mobile provides a free trial period too. It may be due to the fact that I already own a Garmin Nuvi and love it.

Keep in mind that the TeleNav subscription in approximately $120/yr but the Garmin Mobile app is a one-time $99 cost. Weather and traffic are available on both apps.

with street view available for some cities its really great..but no voice activated stuff.. for that telnav/telmap is very good (been told)

off topic, but if you go to the rim site through your berry you can download the trimble 3-pack which includes a great workout gps program, a geochaching program, and a gps map program. i use the all sport gps program every weekend with my girl to monitor our outdoor workouts.

Thank everyone. I have Google maps and i even have the super-pages mobile both are good for getting you out of a jam if your lost. But more then once i have almost ran in to the back of someone trying of look at the screen and drive at the same time so thats why i was looking for one with voice directions so i don't have to keep looking at it. And i was looking for the traffic cause i live in Pittsburgh live the sports teams hate the traffic i don't know if any of you ever been here but if you don't notice the traffic before a exit you could be stuck sitting for a lone time. I thought about buying a GPS unit but the ones with traffic updates start at $200 and most you still have to pay for the traffic updates and there is always the chance that it could get stolen or in my case I'll forget it when i really need it. i have my BB on me all the time so there is really no chance for both to happen. i Looked in to the tomtom mobile but i not think it has the traffic. the garmin looks good but i didn't see it if the 8900

I had Mapquest Navigator on my Pearl 8100 but got tired of waiting for map updates and missing turns during the download. I ended up buying a new Garmin 580 (older model)for $150 with a free year of MSN direct (weather/traffic/movietimes/gas prices). Very happy with my decision. I do use Google Maps on my BB 8900 for finding things when I'm not in the car (streetview is fantastic for seeing what my destination looks like before I get there) but a dedicated GPS works much better for me while driving. As a plus the 580 also is bluetooth enabled for handsfree phone use. Even the 8900's address book and dialing history is accessable on the GPS screen. If you do buy Garmin's handheld software make sure you can transfer it to another Blackberry when you upgrade. Not positive but I thought it was only licensed for one phone and not transferable. If you upgrade every year like me then you might have to spend $99.00 every time you upgrade.

I give AmazeGPS my vote. Sure, it doesn't call out the actual street name, but is that really worth $10 bux a month??? Not to me....

The above is a "must try" app. I was on Telenav for over a year. It was okay. On a whim I downloaded Telmap and have not looked back. I cancelled Telenav and am much happier with Telmap. I also tried AmazeGPS. It was okay, but was not as easy to imput and navigate.

Been using Telenav and it works great. I don't mind the $9.99 a month. I've used it time and time again and it's great.
