Default Using Where with BB Maps

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Verizon Storm 2 and I installed Where. I set BB Maps as the dfault map app and Where is working if I call it up from the main menu. If go to BB Maps and first locat myself then try doing a Where search by pressing the menu key and then Where search nothing happens (but if do same for Poynt it works fine).

Does anyone have a suggestion to get ot working?

First thing to try is a hard reset. With the power on, remove the battery for 30-60 seconds. Try that and see if that fixes problem.

Thanbks for the suggestion but it was not successful. After the hard reset BB Maps does not even have Where search as a menu choice. I then went into Where and it does work from there and I reset BBMaps as my default but still BB Maps do not have a choice for Where search.

I don't think it has anything to do with the problem but just in case. I register for an account with Where on my PC and it works because I can login from my PC with no problem but in Where on BB I can not log in it says failed try again.

Any more suggestions would be appreciated.

Could be a bug. But I don't know. Only other thing I can think of to try is delete the app and then reinstall. But google around, if you haven't, and see what you find. And look to see if the app provider publishes a known bug list.

Send a message to the app provider. I think even in app world there is a button to contact the provider. That's probably you best step right now.

Does BB maps and everything else work ok when you delete the app?

Yes, BB Maps works fine with or without Where installed except for Where. I sent an email to Where yesterday so I hope early in week to have response but I am guessing it is not compatible with the Storm 2

I was thinking about compatibility, but it's a popular app (I think) and the Storm 2 isn't brand new. Does the app web page have a list of compatible devices?

You have a good thought and I thought I checked it before I downloaded. I double checked and it does list the 9550 (Storm 2) as compatible.

Hopefully Where will respond to my email because the app looks pretty good.

Just curious what would happen if you deleted Poynt and then installed Where again. I don't expect a conflict; just wondering.

I haven't tried that but will give it a try if Where doesn't respond in a couple of days.

Also,I thought more about compatibility and Where does run on the Storm 2 but will not run in the maps app so I guess you could still say it is compatible.
